“I hope you enjoy the third of hopefully 4 Maressey albums. As you should know Maressey is a Ponified Tribute to the Music of The Smiths. Without them creating the original tracks this tribute or the music contained would not be possible. Their exploration of loneliness, sex, gender, love, and loss I felt could be translated into our own fimfiction of these characters and comment on ourselves. This album deals less with our inspirations (ponies) and more with all the aspects of the brony fandom itself and the weird and wonderful stories we have to tell.
I have to thank quite a few people who have made an idea 3+ years ago into a realized 20+ person group project. Thanks to the wonderful people below who have helped throughout this project. They are all such incredibly talented and wonderful musicians and they have made this project all possible. I hope that people continue to support this project and those many musicians and artists involved.”~Freewave
“September 4 – Pittsburgh, PA – Point Park University Seniors will be
shooting a music documentary about Brony music. We will be conducting
interviews while filming behind the scenes of Jeff Burgess & The Bad
Mares concert. We will be in Colorado from November 5 of Denver, and
the Brony music scene. The crew is four members of Point Park University
and will make a short documentary for their class and to send out to
the world. The crew has worked on numerous of professional and student
productions. The crew has also worked on previous projects last year.
The premise of the documentary is to highlight the journey of Jeff’s
band while shedding light on the niche music of the Bronies. The film
will be completed by December of 2015. We will send it to festivals
around the country.
About the Documentary The Brony Documentary will be about seven to
twelve minutes in length. We cover a history of the Brony music and
Jeff’s bands trip to the convention. We will have a variety of music
genres along with different band interviews. We see it similar to Sonic
Highways, in an Anthony Bourdain style documentary. Jeff Burgess will be
the host as we follow him through the journey. He has traveled all over
the country to play different Brony conventions. A link to his work is
