Dash is depressed, and quite bored of Ponyville. She has grand dreams
that exist outside of this small town. With a town where nothing ever
changes, and a relationship she now finds somewhat boring, she’s finding
a pull to move on to bigger things and to let the past go. It’s also a
ponified cover of a classic track by The Smiths.
A massive thanks
to Francis Vace (Vaceslav) for taking on the vocals of this track. i
thought he did an awesome job and is an integral part of the project.

We’ve
had a bit of a break from the Maressey project and I hope people
appreciate that we’re back and putting music out again. If you like it
plz let us know and even consider sending it in to EQD. The Flutterdash
Album will be out rather soon. Expect 5 more songs put out weekly to get
that storyline completed.

I know there hasn’t been much of any activity in here in quite a long time. My apologies. Now that MLP is on a hiatus its actually good timing for bringing Maressey back from its break.
I’m gonna try to have a wip for the Flutterdash album posted this week for those involved and then give ppl a chance to weigh in for any necessary changes. Hopefully its really close to done anyway and then we’ll see the final 6 tracks from the Flutterdash album on a weekly release and then its full album release.
Thanks to those involved in making and supporting this project. Hopefully people will be glad to see its return and I hope they will be vocal as that will decide if it continues on or not into a third. There’s a handful of songs which can be completed (still need vocalists) or left off. Time will tell. Wish us luck.
This is the final song from the Rarijack album….Rarity is overcome by the difficulties of her new life in Manehattan while assisting on the fashion designs for a doomed wedding party. After a long day, she tries to sleep, but keeps dreaming of her family and the past. Things go from bad to worse after she finally opens a letter from AJ, informing her of the formal end to their relationship. Her life comes crashing down around her, as she realizes she now has lost everything in the pursuit of her career. It’s also originally a classic by The Smiths.
Vocals for this track are by the amazing Metal Mare. Also known as the Warbalist’s wife, her performance just blew me away and she brought such a great closer to this part of the project. The Warbalist did a wonderful and time consuming job of assembling all the music for this track w/o the help of any midi tracks. Thanks so much for all the work done on this closer.
Both are on this channel https://www.youtube.com/user/warbalist/
I am Freewave who threw did the mixing and mastering of this track and the running of the project. I’m here https://www.youtube.com/user/thefreewave

Thanks to all those supporting the Maressey project and getting the word out. Tumblr is here: http://mlpmaressey.tumblr.com/ If you like it let us and EQD know. The full Rarijack Album is out containing this track and 9 others. Grab it here (it’s free).. http://maressey.blogspot.com/
After weeks have gone by, Spike finally has had enough with waiting around for Rarity to return from Manehattan. He wants no more carrying around luggage, trying on dresses, and investing in the doomed relationship. This is his farewell note he sends to her as he vows to get on with his new life. This is a track originally done by The Smiths and the second to last song from the Rarijack album.
Maressey - Manehattan
A dream opportunity to work in Manehattan finally comes Rarity’s way as she has always hoped for. Her friends and marefriend go to the train station to help send her off for what they assume is a temporary job. She says she’ll be back eventually and that she’ll make the long distance relationship work…but is it really that truthful? This is the beginning of the end of the Rarijack album, out now.
Jokeblue did all the musical elements of this track. Vocals, loads of real guitar, drums, and bass. His channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/user/JeremyJokeblue/
I am Freewave who threw in a few samples and did the mixing and mastering of this track. I’m here https://www.youtube.com/user/thefreewave

Maressey - The Rarijack Album
“I hope you enjoy the first of hopefully 4 Maressey albums. As you should know Maressey is a Ponified Tribute to the Music of The Smiths. Without them creating the original tracks this tribute or the music contained would not be possible. Their exploration of loneliness, sex, gender, love, and loss I felt could be translated into our own fimfiction of these characters and comment on ourselves. We did try to do something a bit different with this tribute and that is to find an MLP theme in each album (within this story of Rarijack) and the next, with albums that tell an interwoven storyline in each.
I have to thank quite a few people who have made an idea 2+ years ago into a realized 20+ person group project. Thanks to the wonderful people below who have helped throughout this project. They are all such incredibly talented and wonderful musicians and they have made this project all possible. I hope that people continue to support this project and those many musicians and artists involved.”~Freewave

10 Questions
The Four Albums
The Art of Maressey
Rarity and Applejack have a romantic evening planned, leaving Sweetie Belle to stay the evening at Button’s house. What the young ponies have built up in their minds is quickly and unexpectedly extinguished. The evening turns into an awkward disaster as they continually misinterpret what the other is thinking and feeling throughout the night. This is also a ponified cover of The Smiths classic.
Things have taken a turn for the worse between Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. After missing a dinner date, Dash shows up the next day reeking of sweat and cider. She then tells a constantly evolving story of fighting off an army of attackers. How can their relationship prevail when she can’t tell her marefriend the honest truth? This is also a ponified cover of The Smiths classic.
Maressey - Pretty Mares Make Graves
It’s cider season and Big Mac has yet another awkward encounter with an eager Cheerilee. As is usual with most of the mares in Ponyville he is aggressively (and on this night drunkenly) hit on, despite the fact he has no interest in the company of mares. This is also a ponified cover of The Smiths classic.
So this is an update to progress of the four themed Maressey albums. I was hoping we’d get to the character arcs where songs start telling stories of several (relation)ships, with each song telling a different chapter of that storyline over its course. The best place for this to happen is with the album releases, so each album has a theme. Therefore I’ve proposed collecting the songs in 4 free themed albums, with one for Rarijack, Flutterdash, Twiluna, and one a general Bronies theme. Four just works for the amount of character themes involved and the progress so far on each. Overall this project examines the difficulties of having relationships within different personalities and what happens when friendships are stretched by having different goals in life. I’ve gone with Lauren Faust’s original concept to have Rarity and Dash fulfill their dreams outside of Ponyville but also the costs of such a departure. The biggest theme of all is how things change and we often feel the loss of tearing away of those bonds.
