The Maressey Project has songs open for singers currently. To simplify what’s checked out and what’s currently open (and whether there’s an instrumental ready or not) here’s a post.

Hit up Freewave on Skype if you’d like to be a part of this and what song would be a good fit. Not all songs will be made but the more the merrier.

It’s hard to sing to a song that isn’t composed yet but some of these have midi’s to get musicians started. Other tracks will have written chords and notation at a minimum. If you’re a musician but not a vocalist take a shot at one of these below. THEN we can worry about getting a vocalist.

Trixie visits Ponyville again and just like last time her lack of tact to her fellow unicorn kin create a new wave of problems. Feel sympathy for Trixie as she’s cursed with being a bigmouth and well aware of it. This song is also a ponified cover of The Smiths classic.

This is basically a brony theme song for dealing with haters and trolls. We may encounter adversity but you don’t have to let it dampen your spirit. It follows a brony who travels all across the country attending brony conventions until they sadly run out of money. It’s also a ponified cover of The Smiths classic.

So hopefully people are aware that I’ve been running and focusing exclusively on the Maressey Project for several months now. It’s now a 19 musician group project that’s been in the planning stages for over 2 years now. Agents of Discord helped interview me about the project and asked what it is and why we’re doing it. I hope you take the time to listen because it’s a lot of work,  something I’m very passionate about, and different then what I think people are used to seeing (and hearing).”

There will be a part 2 with song teasers and talking about each of the great musicians who are all taking part. I’ll try to get that up in a week or two.

Coco Pommel has a passion for fashion but her time in Manehattan has been anything but what she dreamed it would be. Long hours of making dresses from other’s patterns, an abusive boss, and no one around to look out for her, is there any reason she shouldn’t be a bit sad in the big city? So these are the very last of the proposed covers for the Maressey songs which I put together. I still like the idea of having the covers created whether the songs happen or likely may not. The first 2 are adaptions from originals (I did some editing to create) and all of these I’m in the process of checking if its ok to get permission. Wish me luck….

Besides a visit from Maude I’m not sure I’ve sure we will see any traces of Pinkie’s family and if it’s miserable as she indicated she’s likely not going back home. This is a song about missing and yet continuing to avoid a painful childhood past. It’s also a Smiths classic b-side.

This is the first track of a several song Flutterdash ship arc. Taking place during the Hurricane Fluttershy episode, this is from Dash’s pov (Evdog) as she expresses not just her need for her help but also for something much more. Every relationship starts with a spark but it only truly begins with a question and a reply of “yes”. This is the fifth track from the Maressey project, a ponified cover of The Smiths classic “Ask”.

Thanks! Yep he isn’t a brony and when Morte and I were shopping the idea of getting this project and looking for a Smiths cover musician involved (there’s a lot of them) his name was the one who really popped out due to the irony.  He was also well acquainted with their catalog, did great covers, and already had a sizeable following. What was even better was he agreed to take part knowing the theme and we moved from the idea of singing over his ytube covers to him making new recordings and stems for 10 of the songs to make them even better. I’m serious if he hadn’t done a lot of the groundwork at the onset this project wouldn’t have gotten started to also making a lot of the instrumentals for other songs. We’ve actually got about 25+ wips currently and 20+ more possible songs to do if we want to take it that far.
