This song is about my favorite lesbian horse couple Lyra and Bon Bon.  This song is sung from the pov of Lyra when she first approached Bon Bon romantically. It’s easy to live alone in life and pessimistically but why… when there’s so much more to life when it’s shared with another? It is also a cover of the Smiths classic “Sheila Take a Bow”.

Vocals for this track are by the amazing SylverLining who helped record these vocals awhile back when the Maressey project was being formed.  Like everything she throws passion into her work and this is no exception! She’s the proud author of Chameleon Moon an excellent novel and she’s helped me with vocals many times on songs over the last 2 years. I appreciate her support and friendship in getting Maressey off the ground. Her channel and tumblr are here.

All the instruments are done by Johnny Mare who helped truly launch this project too by working on the instrumentals for 10 of our songs. He’s a long time Smiths fan, a guitarist, and not even a brony.. A huge thanks to his generosity in making this project happen. https://www.youtube.com/user/johnnymare

I am Freewave who did the mixing, mastering, and organizing of this project. I’m here https://www.youtube.com/user/thefreewave

The wonderful artwork is by Koviry http://koviry.deviantart.com/art/Bon-Bon-I-477824594 Thanks so much for it’s use as it was the perfect fit.

Downloads will be available when the free album eventually comes out.

Ponified Lyrics (rewritten by Freewave):
Is it wrong to want to live on your own?
No, it’s not wrong — but I must know
How can someone so young
Always seem to feel so bad?

Bon Bon take a, Bon Bon take a bow
Boot the grime of this world in the flank, dear
And don’t go home tonight
Come out and find the Lyra you love and who loves you
The one that you love and who loves you

Is it wrong not to always be glad?
No, it’s not wrong — but I must add
How can someone so young
Always look so mad?

Bon Bon take a, Bon Bon take a bow
Boot the grime of this world in the flank, dear
And don’t go home tonight
Come out and find the Lyra you love and who loves you
The one that you love and who loves you

Take my hoof and off we stride
Oh, la la la la la-la-la-la
You’re a mare and so am I
La la la la la-la-la-la
La la la-la-la-la
Take my hoof and off we stride
Oh, la la la la la-la-la-la
I’m a mare and who’s got a thing for hands
La la la-la-la-la
La la la-la-la-la
Bon Bon take a, Bon Bon take a bow
La la la la la-la-la-la

Throw your bag of candy onto the fire
Come out and find the Lyra you love
Come out and find the one that you love

“Sheila Take a Bow” is a song by The Smiths. It was released as a single in April 1987, reaching No. 10 in the UK Singles Chart, their highest chart placing in their career. It was one of the band’s many “between album” singles (the last of four in a row), not having natural home on any of the studio albums. It was, however, featured on the Louder Than Bombs compilation released later in the year. You can get that original here https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/the-smiths/

Thanks to all those supporting the Maressey project and getting the word out. Tumblr is here: http://maressey.tumblr.com/ If you like it let us and EQD know. Another track next week. ;) Cheers
