Berry Punch’s death by the bottle shows that even places like Ponyville often have neighbor avoiding neighbor. Are humans and ponies really that different?
From Maressey - The Brony Album https://maressey.bandcamp.com/album/the-brony-album Francis Vace vocals, Zatslol (intro + outro guitars), and Freewave (remainder of the music + the mixing)(and of course thanks to the original track by The Smiths).
The humbling position of having to submit your work to an anonymous panel who is flooded with a multitude of submissions is a difficult thing. While we often blame the judges for our problems, we so rarely ask, have we as creators done enough to really merit any eventual success we ask for?
Equestria Daily: “A new track from Maressey, I Want The One I Can’t Have features vocals from Zatslol and a strong instrumental from Johnny Mare. Whilst this kind of thing is always a bit of a touchy subject, I feel like this track approaches the subject matter pretty tastefully and with great production value, Zatslol’s vocals especially shine strongly in this track. Make sure to check it out”
“One of the coolest fandom music projects is back! Maressey is an ambitious project that aims to produce high quality pony-focused tributes to The Smiths. They’ve just released their 4th album, The Brony Album, which focuses on a lot of fandom related things, such as EQD, Bronycon, Rule 34 and Cosplay. This track, featuring amazing vocals from AdamTh3Walker, a strong instrumental from Johnny Mare and mixing from project-head Freewave, deals with the after effects of the eventual ending on the show, whenever it may be. Make sure to check it out below for a really strongly produced track about a poignant topic of conversation.”~Equestria Daily
“I hope you enjoy the third of hopefully 4 Maressey albums. As you should know Maressey is a Ponified Tribute to the Music of The Smiths. Without them creating the original tracks this tribute or the music contained would not be possible. Their exploration of loneliness, sex, gender, love, and loss I felt could be translated into our own fimfiction of these characters and comment on ourselves. This album deals less with our inspirations (ponies) and more with all the aspects of the brony fandom itself and the weird and wonderful stories we have to tell.
I have to thank quite a few people who have made an idea 3+ years ago into a realized 20+ person group project. Thanks to the wonderful people below who have helped throughout this project. They are all such incredibly talented and wonderful musicians and they have made this project all possible. I hope that people continue to support this project and those many musicians and artists involved.”~Freewave

do something a bit different with this tribute and that is to find an
MLP theme in each album (within this story of Rarijack and Flutterdash) and the next,
with albums that tell an interwoven storyline in each.

Discord has been freed of his prison by neutralizing the elements of Harmony through Fluttershy’s failure to befriend him. He vows to begin his reign of chaos anew and with the help of other villains he seeks out. However, this time he might not even need to lift a finger for things to fall into place. As always it’s originally a classic track by The Smiths
A massive thanks to long time contributer Zatslol for taking on the vocals of this track. He’s been one of the vocal highlights of the project and been one of the most supportive of it. https://www.youtube.com/user/zatslol
Celestia aims to reform the newly freed Discord with the help of the patient Fluttershy. However, things do not turn out as well as she planned. He quickly takes advantage of their friendship, tricking her to do things she wouldn’t normally do, and poisoning her relationship with the bearers of the Elements of Harmony. As always it’s originally a classic track by The Smiths
A massive thanks to Starbreeis for taking on the vocals of this track. i thought she did a wonderful job on this track and several others. She’s fabulous! https://www.youtube.com/user/starbreeis
Music (guitars, bass, and drums) by Johnny Mare. Johnny helped kickoff this project by doing new guitar takes and music for many of our songs. His channel of Smiths covers is here. https://www.youtube.com/user/johnnymare
One evening after Rainbow Dash pries into the source of Fluttershy’s continued shyness, she finally reveals the truth. Shortly before the two eventually became friends in flight camp she suffered from weeks of abuse from the other young pegasi and their tyrant headmaster. That childhood trauma has affected her ever since. It’s also a ponified cover of a classic track by The Smiths.
A massive thanks to Starbreeis for taking on the vocals of this track. i thought she did a wonderful job on this track and she will be back on next week’s track for Fluttershy’s encounter with Discord. https://www.youtube.com/user/starbreeis
This is the final song from the Rarijack album….Rarity is overcome by the difficulties of her new life in Manehattan while assisting on the fashion designs for a doomed wedding party. After a long day, she tries to sleep, but keeps dreaming of her family and the past. Things go from bad to worse after she finally opens a letter from AJ, informing her of the formal end to their relationship. Her life comes crashing down around her, as she realizes she now has lost everything in the pursuit of her career. It’s also originally a classic by The Smiths.
Vocals for this track are by the amazing Metal Mare. Also known as the Warbalist’s wife, her performance just blew me away and she brought such a great closer to this part of the project. The Warbalist did a wonderful and time consuming job of assembling all the music for this track w/o the help of any midi tracks. Thanks so much for all the work done on this closer. Both are on this channel https://www.youtube.com/user/warbalist/
Thanks to all those supporting the Maressey project and getting the word out. Tumblr is here: http://mlpmaressey.tumblr.com/ If you like it let us and EQD know. The full Rarijack Album is out containing this track and 9 others. Grab it here (it’s free).. http://maressey.blogspot.com/
