The Maressey Project has songs open for singers currently. To simplify what’s checked out and what’s currently open (and whether there’s an instrumental ready or not) here’s a post.

Hit up Freewave on Skype if you’d like to be a part of this and what song would be a good fit. Not all songs will be made but the more the merrier.

It’s hard to sing to a song that isn’t composed yet but some of these have midi’s to get musicians started. Other tracks will have written chords and notation at a minimum. If you’re a musician but not a vocalist take a shot at one of these below. THEN we can worry about getting a vocalist.

Trixie visits Ponyville again and just like last time her lack of tact to her fellow unicorn kin create a new wave of problems. Feel sympathy for Trixie as she’s cursed with being a bigmouth and well aware of it. This song is also a ponified cover of The Smiths classic.

Coco Pommel has a passion for fashion but her time in Manehattan has been anything but what she dreamed it would be. Long hours of making dresses from other’s patterns, an abusive boss, and no one around to look out for her, is there any reason she shouldn’t be a bit sad in the big city? This is also a ponifed cover of The Smiths classic track.

This is the first track of a several song Flutterdash ship arc. Taking place during the Hurricane Fluttershy episode, this is from Dash’s pov (Evdog) as she expresses not just her need for her help but also for something much more. Every relationship starts with a spark but it only truly begins with a question and a reply of “yes”. This is the fifth track from the Maressey project, a ponified cover of The Smiths classic “Ask”.

In the middle of the night Luna is attacked by an evil force and found in a coma. Celestia is overcome with a wave of emotions from the past regarding her fallen sister, both positive and negative. Maressey - Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want

Twilight’s been through a lot through four seasons and the finale brought up how important it is to have a purpose and goals you personally want to see happen. Not to stand around and have things happen to you but to choose your own destiny. This is our first Maressey track, a group project we’ve been very excited to see fulfilled as well after a few years of planning. It’s our dream to get people interested in mixing the power of The Smiths songs within the characters of the MLP universe. We hope you enjoy this starting point and tune in for new weekly songs from an array of brony musicians taking part in tackling an amazing catalog of songs. Whether you’re currently a Smiths fan or not (or an MLP fan or not) we hope to tune you in to one of the best songwriting groups in music through our covers/parodies/tribute and do our part in merging and honoring 2 fandoms simultaneously.

"Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want" is of course originally performed by The Smiths. It was released as the B-side of "William, It Was Really Nothing" in 1984 and later featured on the compilation albums Hatful of Hollow and Louder Than Bombs.
